About Pokhara City ;

Pokhara, nestled in the embrace of the Annapurna mountain range, is a jewel of tranquility and natural splendor in Nepal. Revered as the ‘City of Lakes,’ Pokhara enchants visitors with its serene ambiance, pristine lakes, and breathtaking mountain vistas.

Phewa Lake, the crown jewel of Pokhara, mirrors the towering peaks of Machapuchare and Annapurna, creating a picture-perfect reflection that seems almost surreal. The lakeside promenade buzzes with life, offering a blend of vibrant cafes, boating activities, and the mesmerizing backdrop of the Himalayan giants.

Surrounding the city, lush hills adorned with terraced fields and traditional villages invite exploration. The World Peace Pagoda, perched on a hilltop, provides not only panoramic views of Pokhara and the mountains but also a sense of serenity and contemplation.

Pokhara is a gateway to some of Nepal’s most renowned trekking trails, including the Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Base Camp. Yet, even for those not embarking on a trek, the city offers a myriad of experiences, from paragliding above the lakes to unwinding in natural hot springs.

As the sun sets behind the mountains, casting hues of pink and gold across the sky, Pokhara transitions into a tranquil haven, leaving an indelible impression of beauty, peace, and the undeniable magic of Nepal.

Today the trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola and again you’ll continue climbing to Khuldighar at 7,808 feet where there used to be an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area) check post. There is a clearing in the forest a little further on, from which the route travels very steeply down a rock bank then levels out, running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge, keeping always on the west side of the river. Walk through bamboo and then rhododendron forests to the Himalayan Hotel. Overnight: Guesthouse

Today the trail climbs on past the Hinko Cave, Deurali and then Machhapuchhare Base Camp, which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours trek from Machhapuchhare Base Camp takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at elevation of 13,550 feet. There, you will view unobstructed views of mountain scenery, which is very spectacular. Overnight: Guesthouse
